Canadian Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment Data Hub
The Lifecycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) Data Hub, developed by the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), is a cloud-based platform that helps improve transparency, traceability, and data sharing when evaluating climate change solutions. It allows researchers, policymakers, and industry partners to easily access, manage, and connect different types of data used in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). In the future, it will also support Lifecycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA), which looks at environmental, economic, and social factors together.
The current version of the Data Hub includes life cycle inventory datasets for hydrogen production, critical minerals, batteries, and carbon capture and utilization pathways. These datasets can be used to calculate environmental impacts through LCA. The platform also features a life cycle impact analysis calculator that helps assess the climate change impacts of hydrogen production in Canada.
